its a beautiful sunday morning, the suns just starting to come up and the boat is already hooked up to my truck.
first stop timmys for a coffee and then it all goes wrong.
driving to the lake my battery light comes on my truck, sucks but not a deal breaker.
so i launch my boat a 1984 searay 120 mercruiser, fire it up stalls, again, again, again, ok now were good.
so after a day of starts and stalls all over the lake now my alternator belt starts to squeel but it stops (because it broke)
i nurse the boat back to the launch go get my truck and back it up my, fishing partner at the controls hits my trailer off center panics cranks the wheel and hits the throttle swing the *** end of the boat towards a very new and shinny bass boat. now i panic jump in the water to stop the boats from colliding, no good they hit thankfully no damage to the bass boat. mine however prop spinning hit the trailer, by by prop and the side of my boat hits the fender of the trailer pooping the gelcoat. and to make matters worse i had my iphone in my pocket (fubar).
finally get the boat on the trailer time to go, start pulling the boat out of the water the lower unit is still down scrape the skeeg of the concrete, yea how much more can go wrong. the drive home battery guage is getting lower and lower, but we make it back mostly. my truck dies at the end of my driveway just 20 ft to go.

so to recap broken truck broken boat broken phone

oh yea and i didn't catch any fish

now to the problem why was the boat stalling so much, its got to be the carb its the only thing i haven't changed.
i've order a carb kit and new belt, my question is what is the perfered method to cleaning the carb?
spray or soak and in what?

thanks in advance and hope your weekend was better than mine

Tom
