Lucky the boat owner didn't wait for them to come inside and then give them a taste of lead fearing for his safety.

Repo people should be better prepared with paperwork and should know to check VIN's or HIN's depending on the vehicle/craft they are repoing. Just absolutely uncalled for. Criminal proceedings should be brought.

i see a BIG law suit. theft, unauthorized possession, attempted kidnap. a hungry attorney could have a field day.

if i were N L. i would be offering a nice settlement.

I agree criminal and civil as well. This is what lawsuits are for. It is a loss when your wife will not board your boat anymore, and I think a serious one.

Bingo. The kidnapping could be argued as they may not have known they were aboard. But theft would fit as they took the boat witout proper paperwork not once but twice.

The repo co isnt operating within the laws.

Actually, yes. Although they seem to be very good on checking VINs.

I was asked to work part time for a repo company at the lake. Gave it some thought, but then found out that I would need a captains license (bank requirement). I looked into it, but then thought against it.

I sat at a dinner with rep guy once, he explained that he had to be a constable, always registered with the local police precinct immediately to seizing a vehicle so a officer could observe if available.
Laws prevent them from break and entry, so a vehicle that is behind a locked gate, or in a locked garage cannot be reposed.
the byline on that show is that they are re enactments. all full of ****.

I miss the cops on water shows, they were neat, all those nice BOATS,yea right.

Yeah, that show is total BS, but when it was first on a couple years ago they tried to lead you to believe it was all real.

My cousin has done repos for 30 years now, it's not a fun job!

Methinks the repo guys are very lucky that they were not greeted by the business end of a 12 gauge shotgun!

Here is Louisiana, your car is considered to be just like your home, in terms of hijackings - you can shoot the assailants and the incident is treated as if you shot them inside of your house.

I wonder if that applies to boats ......
