Re: What a weekend...........

Well as of today, My aunt is going downhill pretty fast sad but nothing can be done

As for my Mom the Doctor ordered another scan, more detailed of the effected area, turns out the mass is not in her lungs and is not wrapped around anything major, Biopsy scheduled for tomorrow to determine the treatment but the Doctor told my mom this one is a piece of cake compared to the other masses she has fought and expects nothing big and another full recovery, she was very upbeat about it and this Doctor has been with her for 3 of her now 4 battles with cancer, the only question right now is to determine its type, lung, Ovarian or breast cancer, of course it could be another but with mom battling breast cancer twice and Ovarian once those are the most likely with an outside chance of it being lung or another type.

So some very sad news regarding my Aunt but some very good news about my mom, bitter sweet to say the least..

Lipp, so sorry to hear the news about your aunt. That's terrible. I wish her, you, and your family the best in these difficult time.

The news about your mother sounds promising. I hope all turns out well. Hang in there and stay strong for the ladies in your life. They need a strong group of people to support them through these difficult times. Stay strong Lipp. I can't imagine what you and your family are going through. Best wishes to you and yours Lipp.

Re: What a weekend...........

Ok this morning on 4 hours sleep(I had to work last night) We went to the hospital at 5 am, Surgery was at 8 am and here it is,

The Tumor was about the size of a lemon and they removed the lower part of moms lower lung about the size of a large grapefruit, the tumor did not touch any other organs, muscle, bone or linings it was entirely within the lung, they also removed some Lymph nodes in order to determine the treatment but those pathology tests will take two to three days to come back and Mom will be home resting by then. The Doctor is very positive about Moms full recovery so it looks like Mom wins battle number Four with Cancer, Pathology will also determine the type of Cancer so were waiting to see if mom has a new type of Cancer or if one of her previous three battles came back to visit, either way she is out of the woods!

My Aunt on the other hand is the exact opposite, she is going downhill incredibly fast my family has gone back to see her twice but unfortunately I have not been able too, but it looks like I will in the next couple weeks, unfortunately it will likely be the last time I see her alive as its doubtful she will live to see June.

Guys make the most of your time on this planet, you almost never realize how short the time you have is until its gone. Tell your wife/GF or significant other to get checked regularly I cannot stress it enough.

Thanks for the update. Thoughts and prayers are still with you all from the entire Kenmyfamily.
Sasto's words and thoughts were invaluable to us last year when we went through cancer with my Mom in law.
Please take the time to check out the link in his post.
