Took the boat out both days this weekend! First time out since I broke the transom on the 1960's Mark Twain last May (read 1 year 1+ month ago).. I've since trashed that hull (but kept the motor!) and bought an 86 Bayliner Capri hull.

It need seats (bad) and most of the rest of the wood is rotted out (i.e. the seat boxes). All the vinyl that Bayliner put in is TRASH, and dome dork put in some $39 Walmart "boat seats" (the MOST uncomfortable seats on this friggin planet) in place of the back to backs. The floor is (mostly) solid, but will be replaced this winter (along with the seat boxes). The transom is still damp inside but is pretty strong (very little to no flex), and we were climbing up the motor to get in tbe boat from the water, no flex then).

Took a pretty good wave over the bow (my own wave, btw .. friend was sitting on bow seat, turned around to pick up the kids and our own wake wave washed over the bow). Filled the bilge to where the water was actually about 1" up the battery (Realgun probably knows how much water that is). Took forever to get it on plane to remove the plug and "lake drain" but got most of it out.

Going to get some wood and make new bow seats (and rear seats) .. foam is ok (not great, but OK) and some cheap vinyl and do them up quick and dirty .. but we'll see.

Oh, and my SHT happened (see the SHT forum) as I was bringing the boat in this evening.

NO! I didn't forget the plug :)
