whats is your favourite beer?

I lean towards the slightly darker side, i like Killians Red, Fat Tire and Shiner Bock.
when i can't get those i'll go for Samuel Adams or Amstel.
I'm not a fan of pilsner largers.

I like the brews from the U.K. with the plastic toy inside; Guiness, Murphy’s and a few others from England, Scotland and Ireland. Not hard to find, just start flippin’ over packs of beer in the supermarket. When you hear one rattle, it’s a good one. Don’t have a clue what the plastic thingy is for. They come in different shapes, the ones in the bottles look like torpedos, ping pong balls or flying saucers are in the cans.

An icy cold longneck Falstaff wrapped in tissue and a little Floyd Kramer for ambience comes to mind.

It's called a Widget (I jest ye not!) and it's there to help the gases when you open the bottle/can so that it (allegedly) tastes like a draught just been poured at the pub: cost millions to develop and pennies to make :D ;)

Hmmmm. Except for Bass, there are no ales on my preferred list.

Lagers? Shiner Bock is a recent discovery and current favorite. Becks Lager and Heineken Lager are high up there, along with Sam Adams.

Pathetic American beer drinker here. Mainstay Miller Lite. Although I do enjoy a Killians(sp) Red or a Honey Brown from time to time. Oh and I will partake of the wife’s Amber Bock when my stash runs low. :D

I really like the darker stuff, too. Bass, Guinness, etc. I also enjoy Shiner bock! I try a lot of micro-brews. There are some excellent beers out there. Darth, if you enjoy the darker ales and can find it, try Schmaltz's Alt, from Schell brewery in New Ulm, MN. Very tasty. Another delicious one is Goose Island Hex Nut Brown Ale.

About the only beers I have found to not enjoy as much (can't say dislike) are the pale ales, especially the India and extra types.

If ever you are over this side of the pond JB you have to visit the Bass Brewery in Burton-on-Trent. It may have somthing to do with transport, but the pint that they serve at the brewery bar is better than any I have tasted.

Sierra Nevada, Fat Tire, and Bass. Or an Amber Ale from my local micro-brewer.

The widget also contains nitrogen. While most beers are carbonated only with co2, Guinness uses a mixture of co2 and nitrogen to get that creamy head.
