What all to do when servicing my 225XL Mercury 4-stroke engine.

Good day,<br /><br />Can someone tell me what exactly you need to lubricate or chnage when servicing my MY 2003, 225XL Mercury 4-stroke engine. Serail# OT750085.<br /><br />Also I have this peeping noice, which I hear when giving just a little more gas from idling speed. (idling at 850rpms and going to 1300rpms)<br /><br />Has some ever heard about this problem before ??<br /><br />Hope to receive some replies to my message.<br /><br />Regards,<br />Edward

Rather then me write it, out your owners manual for your MY 2003, 225XL Mercury 4-stroke engine. Serail# OT750085 will tell you exactly what and when to do it.<br />As for the squeek or peep it could be belt noise or maybe intake/throtle noise.Is it coming from the top of the engine or from the air box area?

Thanks Richard,<br /><br />The noise comes from the top part of the engine some wrote me this message which I think looks like the problem, however I never heard that Mercury had problems with the bushings !!<br /><br />" Hello Ed, on the peeping noise. two things come to mind. one is you are hearing the cam drive belt which can be normal or two you are hearing the drive shaft rub on the bushing in the housing just above the water pump. yammaha changed the bushing on the 25 inch and 30 inch motors. there is a tech bulliten someplace about the modified shaft bushings.<br />good luck and keep posting "<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Edward
