2 dogs, Mossberg 500 tactical w flashlight mount,1911 45cal and i keep a gorilla lock on the trailer but i doubt that would do much to stop a determined thief but everybody fears a 12gauge.

If a thief wants something bad enough, it won't matter what you do. With that said, I have a lock on the tongue of the trailer, and plenty of insurance. :D

at the moment ?....a double 12 coachgun,...all the other expired devices are being examined for DNA, and the "dynamite thieftamer" was outlawed on boat hitches:cool:

It is sooooo cold up here that we don't worry about thieves 'till summer:D

All (well not all!) joking aside,

A cheapy for in the driveway in the urban areas is a timed light or a passive I/R spotlight. A Dud camera in a visible place.
If someone has made their mind up to steal your boat they'll most likely find a way. Not meaning to say it isn't worth it though, preparedness can save a lot of trouble.

I used a plugged in alarm on the murdercycle, so that if you were to pull it away it would unplug and set off a siren alarm. but it never got tripped.

A cheapy electronic alarm unit with a simple set of two or more circuits will do, If you are going to do that, pick one with a circuit or circuits that are controllable to have a "normally closed circuit", so you can either use a plugin system or a magnetic swtch to be activated when the thing you are protecting is moved. I did it my way with the plug it is more positive and there is less chance to accidently trip it.

A yard light is what I use at the moment, with a camera under the light so I can at least have some form of evidence and maybe a license plate or something. (I am also going to use the "plugin" alarm trip I mentioned before, as I just brought home another boat.)

Up here where I am there's really not a lot of thieving going on as everyone looks out for one another and we are aching to shoot something out of boredom:D

LOL. Funny but true!.
I had a spaniel once. One night she was outside and was barking persistently. It was a bark I had never heard before out of her. I grabbed the first thing which happened to be a 30-30. popped a couple rounds in and went out the door. She was around the backside of the garage and wouldn't move or stop barking. Well, it turned out to be momma opossum that just set up housekeeping for her babies.
(No, I didn't shoot 'em).

No fire arm or pooch for me. I live in an apartment.

anyway, coupler welded to the trailer, padlock on the coupler, cable and padlock between the trailer and boat, outboard locked to the transom and the boat sits in a locked garage.

Two very loud dogs and security light, if that is not enough then there is 38, 22 revolver, 22 rifle or 12 gauge with 0 and 00 buckshot. The dogs keep everyone out of the yard which is fenced all the way around.

Moved to a location with no public transportation within a 9 mile radius. A dog serves as backup :D:D

Redneck neighbors with lots of guns and living in a place where there is one way in and one way out. Its also a bit of land behind some commercial buildings, so very few people even know its there. I can leave stuff in my boat overnight and its never touched.
