Hey guys!
I just bought my first boat. Its a 2008 Sea Ray 205 sport. I just wanted to know what are some really cool additions that i can look into putting on it. I haven't gotten a GPS yet because I'd like to find something that's able to be flush mounted but everything seems to be bulky on the dash. And with little dash space i am still looking.

I recently changed the steering wheel, bought custom covers, and bought a dual battery option. Oh and I added four rod holders so i can fish comfortably. There isn't anything specific for bait cutting but i can use the top of a cooler for now. What ideas have u seen?

I guess Im looking for even more cool additions to make it even better...

Popular marine GPS units have optional accessories/brackets/mounts that enable them to be flush mounted. The key is actually having space on the dash/console/whatever to flush mount it.
Also, you have to cut out a big chunk of structure and your unit might be outdated in five years... so, later on, flush mounting something else might be troublesome.

The best way to cut fish in many cases is to get a cutting board that will drop into a rod holder. There are some that are made to rest securely on the gunwales, but making a custom one is the way to go.

A safe boating course is a good idea if you have not done so already

A stern anchor is a must have in crowded anchorages.

A boat hook is truly handy, and a must have IMO.

A VHF radio can come in handy.

Masks fins and snorkels are always aboard my boat.

Upgrade your horn if the OEM one sounds weak (they usually do).

A Magma gas grill is an awesome addition. Sandwiches get old after awhile, it's awesome to grill a steak, kabobs, burgers, chucken etc. or cook up a pizza at anchor.

If dash space is at a premium, you could swap out a few of your gauges for a multi-function gauge and use the new space for flush mounting your GPS. Another option would be to mount the GPS in front of the speedometer, it displays speed more accurately anyway.

Trim tabs are an awesome addition to any planing hull boat.

Stainless steel prop is a great upgrade if the current one is aluminum.

Yep, swap out all of your lightbulbs with LED's, preferably with colors - blue is cool. Add some transom mounted underwater lights for a fantastic effect. Upgrade that stock stereo with some amp-powered equipment for quality sound. Use that 2nd battery!

AIS is a nice addition, as is a flow scan and a remote control for your GPS.

Navonics - If you have a smart phone you can get Navonics plotter for ~$9. I have my iphone in a Defender case, which i will mount with a suction cup to the wind screen, from there I will also add a power/audio adapter so I can play music off my phone and keep it charged and displaying GPS data.

Really ? Where and why have a big horn ? Got one on mine and test it at home, but never needed it on the water------YET!!
I consider it part of the survival pack , like the 2 man life raft !!

Do find ciggy lighter outlet /power outlets come very handy around the boat for computers and such !!
