What are some popular rigs and how do you set them up???

I have fished just a hook and a wieght all my life and have caught almost every inland saltwater fish. Rigs are getting popular and i would like to start using them. What are some popular ones and how do i set them up???

carolina rig is pretty much the standard for pier/shore type saltwater fishing. google it, you should be able to find a picture of it already set up, its easy to do.
