What are these outlets for?

Re: What are these outlets for?

I just checked, and the breaker in my panel is a 30 amp on that circuit. It is a dedicated circuit just for my camper, but it has a standard 110 outlet. Been running off of this setup for almost 4 years while preparing the camper for trips and while cleaning it to put it up after...

I plug a HD extension cord into the 110, and put an adapter on the other end to plug into the camper plug... No problems...

I have been planning to upgrade the plug to one like you posted and make a really HD extension cord to run from my garage to the driveway and not mess with adapters, but have not done it yet...

Just curious,

How hot does the 110 outlet/plug get? If you are really drawing anywhere near 30 amps, I bet it gets quite hot. Fortunately, in most cases you will draw a lot less than 30 amps most of the time. Also, you may want to make sure that the wiring to that outlet is sized appropriately.

NEC rating says number 10 wire for 30 amp breaker.
