What are these?

I bought a used boat and I am trying to figure out what these two things are used for? The two round things are below the water line on the transom, between the outdrives. The metal clips are in several places arond the hull above the rub rail. Thanks for any insight.

Re: What are these?

What kind of boat is it?

Do you know who had it before you acquired it?

Do you know how the P\O used the boat?

Where you live, and where you acquired the boat may also lend clues to the answers of your questions?

Are the metal clips spaced evenly, as if in a pattern?

Have you tried to inspect the plastic pieces from inside the bilge area, are there any hoses connected to them?

The ones in the second pic are to hang bumpers from. I have seen them before but not sure who makes them. There is another piece that you tie the bumper too and they slide or snap in the bracket in the pic.

The round pieces are thru the hull and have 2 wires each going to them, I have not traced them to see where they go. The boat is a 1980 Century Cortez and I am not sure where or what it was used for. The metal clips are fairly evenly spaced 2 on the stern and several down either side.

Re: What are these?

If they have wires connected to them, they are either transducers for some electronic equipment, or more likely some kind of impressed current anticorrosion system, like the MerCathode System.
