Re: What Are You Sick of Seeing?

1) People who think ambulances are taxis.
2) People who don't pull over for lights and sirens
3) Cranky nurses
The list goes on and on and on...

The last thing I want to do is defend lacking professionalism (cranky nurses); but the subjects we're now talking about are a few major causes. There's only so much one can take, and still hold it all together while staying utterly professional.

It upsets me to see a nurse, whose supposed to be a patients 1st line of life support and comfort, acting in a manner which is contrary because he/she is frustrated. At the same time, though, in many cases, it's understandable and forgivable.

What many fail to see, in addition, is that patient education is part of a nurses job. In educating some patients, the only way to get through, comes off as crankiness to bystanders. One can't always see all aspects of a situation.

...But then again, some people are just cranky.

Re: What Are You Sick of Seeing?

I am not trying to open an argument, just pointing to the impossibility of humanity.
Cranky nurses should be understood, cranky cops should be accepted, cranky waitress's still deserves 15%?

The point is the nurse chose her profession, just like the cop did and the waitress did. Just like we all have. If the job doesn't agree with you LEAVE. The line is becoming habitually cranky. I no more respect a cranky crossing guard than a cranky neighbor. People get cranky and deserve criticism, if not removal from that position. But a nurse is dealing with a human who is likely hurting, unable to voice critiques because of the real fear of lacking or restricted care. I have zero patience with health care persons who can't have a human and caring personality. In fact I quit going to a doctor last year because he began using a computer in the room. It was overnight, him staring into a screen and talking to me. I pay for this, I said?

Speaking of cranky... isn't this thread about being cranky, and aren't the majority of the posters cranky too?

Y'all lighten up and turn the TV channel, or better yet turn the blasted thing off. Then wait your turn in the checkout line and try not to be so impatient.

Turn your cell phone off when you get into the car or truck and drive defensively.

Now everyone take a deep breath and I think it's time for a group hug... I'll stand off to the side and film it with my iphone.;)

Re: What Are You Sick of Seeing?

I'm sick of seeing garbage on the bank and floated far from shore at Jordan Lake. Some bank fishers and swimmers seem to leave everything when the leave:mad: and they bring alot of shat. Also large and small floating junk of ALL kinds is in the woods in large drifts far from the lake and suprisingly higher than the normal lake level. It seems to me all this debris could not have gotten there accidently the amount is unreal. I believe alot of scoundrels (for lack of a permitted name) upstream use creeks and rivers as dumping grounds, maybe in their own backyards. Just toss it in and watch it float away.

Re: What Are You Sick of Seeing?

Being on the road every day, I have a lot of 'sick of seeing' dealings with lame-brain drivers

1) Sales people (cold callers mainly, who come into my shop and waste my time) who won't take a polite or firm 'no' for an answer and force you to be rude, because I also don't like:

2) Rude people, wherever

3) Drivers who, for no reason, don't do the speed limit and waste my time

4) Drivers on their way to Vegas because they think their KENO numbers are coming up or something, and become the worst idiotic drivers on the planet

5) Idiots who want to suffer hearing loss in a few years so they make the air around them for 50 yards vibrate with rap

6) Mothers (mostly but not all) dropping off their kids at school and completely ignore traffic laws and the children's safety

7) Commercials when I rarely watch TV..and especially the smiling Bob ones. Gimme a break.. I feel like I have to keep the hand on the remote if the young ones are even watching nat-geo or science channel with me anymore!

Re: What Are You Sick of Seeing?

1.) An utter lack of humility from people - everybody from who is the "most noble underprivileged" to the "most gleaming elite politician who will save us all." We need to realize we all put pants on one leg at a time.

2.) A sense of entitlement - I've met too many fantastic people who earned what little or much they have to be impressed by anyone who "deserves" to have what they haven't earned.

3.) Cheap grace - (there's a higher sense to this one too, but I'll leave that alone for now) I'm getting tired of ignoring glaring character issues in media darlings & politicians so they can continue to represent us culturally and socially

4.)Parents who don't parent - we've turned way too many kids loose in society with no foundation. It's bred all manner of problems for us and so far at least 535 of them have been elected to political office.

And the crazy part is - I still enjoy being a part of the nutty world.

Is there a difference?

...Just kidding. Seriously, though, I'm thinking you must mean "unsafe, and disrespectful" jetskiers. I hope so, anyway... There are plenty of jetskiers out there who never cut off other boaters, never get too close to other boats on the water, and are perfectly respectful of others. Have you never seen a jetskier out there, not bothering anyone; just having a good time, enjoying his time on the water?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I know what you mean... And I hate that crap, too.;)

Re: What Are You Sick of Seeing?

3rd wave....

1) Calie Anthony.....why is she still out walking around!?!?!?

2) A mouthful of gold teeth

3) Cell phone commercials

4) Howard Stern

5) STILL hearing about Michael Jackson and the subsequent trial

6) Oprah Winfrey and her show/magazine/new network

7) Coke vs. Pepsi commercials. Has any of these commercials actually influenced your decision on which to drink??

I'm not sure if this thread is a rant or if it's therapeutic...

Actually, by everyone venting out their crankiness/anger is good therapy. And it's free! No shrink, no pills, just type away. Doctors always say it's not good to keep it all bundled inside. Who would have thought this forum was so therapeutic???????
