Re: What Are You Sick of Seeing?
The last thing I want to do is defend lacking professionalism (cranky nurses); but the subjects we're now talking about are a few major causes. There's only so much one can take, and still hold it all together while staying utterly professional.
It upsets me to see a nurse, whose supposed to be a patients 1st line of life support and comfort, acting in a manner which is contrary because he/she is frustrated. At the same time, though, in many cases, it's understandable and forgivable.
What many fail to see, in addition, is that patient education is part of a nurses job. In educating some patients, the only way to get through, comes off as crankiness to bystanders. One can't always see all aspects of a situation.
...But then again, some people are just cranky.
The list goes on and on and on...1) People who think ambulances are taxis.
2) People who don't pull over for lights and sirens
3) Cranky nurses
