Re: What are your funeral plans?

For the Bosslady and I it will be cremation and then ashes spread in front of the lake house. My parents, their dog, and two of ours are already there. One great way to keep the lake side property in the family. :D

My son (ever the greenie and recycler), first thought the idea was good until he got thinking. "What if the fish we has catching actually "ate up" some of the bits." I just told him it was the ultimate recycling project and he should be all for it. His response was "Ewww."

I then reminded him that since the "bits" were heavy( So I lied, get over it) they would sink to the bottom and not to worry much about it. Then I told him only to worry about eating catfish since they are bottom feeders. :p He hasn't been catfishing since.

Carefull there Chief, your wife might get the wrong idea. She may think you meant to save the money to make good "wake" and drop your funeral money on a nice Mastercraft with a wake tower :)

She'd rather have a little tug.

Re: What are your funeral plans?

My wish is to have my ashes poured in concrete to form a dome with holes in it and dropped at my favorite fishing spot. This way my ashes remain there for years, fishes can swim in and out my mini reef, family and friends can mark me in their GPS and fish my favorite spot or just drop a rose on the anniversary of my death. Also, if anyone else in the family wants to do the same, we can start our own reef.

Either that, or have my ashes put into fireworks and set off over the Gulf of Mexico. Talk about going out with a bang! L)

That's cool. In a way you would live forever as a reef. Original idea.
Myself i have not thought that far in advance. I guess to be planted on my acreage so my family could see me from space.

Both us of have willed our bodies to our alma mater's medical school. Since I won't need the body any more after that, I really don't care. The university stated they would cremate the body after that. Somehow it seems fitting that will be the first and last time since graduation a fe wdecades ago that my big ash will be on that campus.;)

Re: What are your funeral plans?

I have had to face this recently. I'm not worried about it coming to pass soon.

I am a Civil War Naval re-enactor. I have a bunch of good crew members that will load my ashes up in the 12 pounder boat howitzer that is occasionally on the bow of our steam launch and send them over a historically appropriate water. Only the crew and the Water LEOs will know it is not completely a blank charge.

I just can't see spending 5k or so on a coffin and another 2k for a hole in the ground. I've told my wife I want to be cremated and have told her of my wishes in how to dispose of my cremains.
What are your plans?

Tie me to a stump on the river bank . Set it on fire, and have a hell of a party.

My instructions are: Don't claim my body at the morgue. :D

Otherwise, dispose of my body in the cheapest manner possible... I doubt I'll be too picky about it by that time.
