We bought this boat last season and it was stored with the battery in the boat, so no maintenance over the winter. It is a Delco m24mf Voyager deep cycle/marine 620AH battery. We do not have any accs. like trolling motors or amps on stereo to draw additional amps. After charging it is acting like it is bad so it goes downtown for a load test. If it is a goner what is a good battery for this application?

Any decent marine battery with 850 cca should treat you fine. Do a good job on cleaning your terminals - they're probably not in the best of shape.
And yes, you should use a marine rated battery. They are built a little tougher than an automotive one to take all the bumps and jolts not normally associated with a car.

Thanks MCPO, the she devil and I had the old one tested and it was a goner so picked up an Exide starting battery at the local parts house and the gent there knew his stuff and helped us nimrods out.
