Hope I'm posting in the right part of the forum. I just bought this boat, and need some help identifying the make and model. It's 14' long, beam about 5'4". It's got a 1970/71 Johnson Seahorse 3 cylinder 2 stroke 60HP on the back, and will do about 30 to 35 MPH. Great on flat water, very exciting ride in the chop. Any ideas?

i have no idea, could be any one of many that vintage. But that seat is one of the most dangerous thing i have ever seen in a boat. it sould fly along. when built it was probably max rated for a 50 hp.

Tell me about it. The plan is to put 2 forward lower seats in to replace the bench seat, and a wrap around seat at the back, plus under seat storage and cubby holes around. I've seen some starcraft that are similar shape. Also, wasn't the 70s Johnsons rated at the powerhead, so it should be about 45 to 50 HP at the prop?

yes they were but so were the 50's, actually the power head difference is about 5-10 hp. for performance, i would put back to back seats in it. that is what they came with. also seat across the stern, and passengers, will make you tail heavy, and hard to get out of the hole.

We had A Starcraft aluminum like that.2 swivel buckets in front with a bench across the stern w storage under.I cut the seat in half and put each behind the buckets.Helped get weight forward. Also passengers were then under the top in the event of foul weather. Also easier to converse.

Looks like it had a windshield at one time, I agree that seat is way dangerous. Looks like an early 60's starcraft
