What boat is this ?

Hello all,

Wondered if anyone can help ? Just picked up a boat........

The title says tbird.

Not sure if that's a standard abbreviation for thunderbird/formula
or if tbird is a separate manufacturer ?

Cannot find any mention of this boat anywhere til this point.

Its a 16 foot bowrider . Looks a lot like a bayliner capri from the 80's or 90's but it's a 1965.
It actually says "TBIRD" on the boat. ( I've had thunderbirds before - this does not have that logo )

So 1965 "TBIRD" with volvo penta 4 cylinder and 270 outdrive.

I could be totally off, but I have a tough time seeing 1965 with that windshield. Maybe a newer windshield grafted on or something. Sorry I can't help with the make.

The blurriness is not nearly as bad as the tree an foliage in the way. It would be nice to see the whole boat.

That's NOT a 1965 boat !! Look on the transom for the HIN #.

The last 2 numbers will tell you the year.

That's an 80's boat methinks. Could be a Thunderbird.

ezmobee. That's what I am thinking too. The title matches the hull numbers. The registration sticker matches too - back to '08. Everything matches up, except that the boat clearly isn't a 1965.Somehow this boat is in the system and registered and titled as a '65.

Yup, I could see it being a mid-80's Thunderbird.

It's titled pre 1972 so no HIN.

Forget about what the title says, hard to tell how the title came about, look at the back of the boat and see if there is an HIN someplace on the transom, or rubrail.

Sorry Dolphin - I just want to confirm: there is no stamped number on the back of the boat (typically upper right side of the transom below the rub rail)?

southkogs. That is correct. I had a 73 dolphin at one point ( imagine ) and that had the HIN stamped on the transom as well as the walkthrough point of the bow. I'll look around and see if anything shows up. More likely though some creative titling going on by the previous owner or owners. Last registered in '08 so anyone's guess.

There's supposed to be another HIN plate under the dash above or below the helm.

It looks a lot like the Sunbird my buddy had about 20 years ago.

Good luck dealing with authorities with that registration, or the insurance company.

Looks a lot like my 86 Sunbird 195. Know this is an old thread, but in case someone checked back, thought this may be helpful.
