You are some cool people here in the forum. In another thread you all helped me decide I need to work on my outboard myself.

I own a 73 Glastron V-156 with a 70HP Johnson motor.

I can work on my car, but intimidated on working on the boat. What book should a newbie buy to help me step-by-step for working on my boat?

A simple search on Amazon.com showed me this:

word to your momma

You need the factory OEM manual, not a seloc or clymers. Check ebay or outboardbooks.com for a factory reprint.

sam, verify the model # and post here, and the other thread. in the other thread you said it was a 72 70hp here 73 , and the number on the reciept doesn't match. there is a big difference in the motors. you need a reprint of the original johnson service manual,,, outboardbooks.com with the right info i can tell you what you need,
