I have a new yamaha 90 2 stroke. A friend of mine just gave me a brand new gallon of Amsoil 2-stroke oil. The guy at the shop wants to sell me bulk oil and the only oil I have ever used is evinrude TCW-3 in my 1972 25hp Johnson.
Is there any differnece in all the TCW-3 oils? Or are you just paying for the name on the container they come?
My thinking is if I use anything other than yamaha oil it might hinder any future warranty issues. What do you all say?

Any TC-W3 oil will do just fine. Warranty would be unaffected.

I don't think the Amsoil is TC-W3 certified. That would void the warranty.

I use Wal Mart SuperTech. Pennzoil full synthetic smokes and pollutes less but costs a lot more.
