#3 carb float cracked at bend.

float of course filled with fuel from the bowl and no longer was a float causing engine to flood.

was able to drill out the plug, drain the fuel and allow it to dry. used soldering iron and rosin core solder (it sticks!) to seal crack & refill plug.
held under water for 2 hours without any bubbles/leaks from any joints.

main question is what caused the cracks in the first place? pressure difference? i can't imagine the float is stressed much inside the bowl.

Metal fatigue from the air expanding and contracting from temperature differentials. Around here it's worse. From -20 in winter storage to 105 on a hot summer day (hotter under the hood!) is a lot of difference in a year.
