What causes spun hubs

I had a alum prop and now a SS that both spun hubs. What in heavens name are we doing wrong? <br />155 Evinrude. 14x19 Ss and 14 1/2 x19 Alum

Anita....I had it explained to me that it's usually a result of too many quick take off's expecially with big motors on heavy boats, too much load on the prop after a while and it fails at the "Weakest Link" which is the hub.

That makes sense<br />205 sundowner 2500lbs with a big v6. The stainless was a used one off of ebay. And the Alum was that new style with the hub adapter style. <br />Were really struggling with propping that boat. 15x17 great hole shot but only get like 37mph/ 14x19 great top end up to 43mph. but hole shot is comp to a big boat with a v8 i/o.

it is also caused by hitting an object/bottom.<br />as for props, the one that keeps your engine<br />in the desired RPM range at WOT is the best one<br />for the long term on your motor and can add<br />years of life.<br />good luck,<br />M.Y.

Also caused by a wimp waterpump, and pluged trim tab water passage on Johnson/evinrude.

Also caused by taking off with a prop wrapped heavily in weeds.<br />At 43 mph with the 19 inch prop,what's your rpm.
