Hi all, North Beach has helped me to solve the mystery of the year and make of my 1963 Fiesta. He also shared with me that the red color it currently wears is incorrect; it was tan from factory. Question here is, what color should we repaint it, the factory appropriate Tan (boring) or a Fun Red, that would look much better? Please keep in mind that the entire boat has to be redone, so everything could be changed to match. Thanks in advance for your input! BryanIMG_5794.jpg

Go with what you like, it's your boat. red would be a sharp color and really stand out. besides, it's hard to do a "restore" seats, hardware, carpets are not avalible like they would be for a 65 mustang. Go for it and welcome to the cult...er club!

Bryan,
The only reason color comes into play is in determining the year if unknown. Personally, I think I'd go with any color other than the tan. :)

I'm hoping someone here can help you with finding a way to fabricate a new windshield because finding a replacement is going to be near impossible. I do know the brochure says 20" for the bottom one and 17" for the top.

There is a guy on here that did some thermoforming of lexan for his boat and threw the offer out to help some fellow iboaters if they needed a new windshield. Can't remember the thread or the user but if I come across it Ill repost. May be worth checking out since like North Beach stated parts are gonna be a real witch!

Bryan--
i have a simple answer to your original Q: boats are supposed to be FUN, right? Q.E.D.

just keep in mind heat control issues depending on where you live. small cabin boats get real hot inside. (I can't believe i'm saying this) at least it's not aluminum.

Bryan. The common Starmada method for color selection is to do things like this....

Welcome, Bryguy. Think of the Fiesta as a blank canvas, you can do any you want. Even paint it like RH showed above. On second thought, look at his project - Much better now. Tan is kinda blah but tan and another color would go well together. About the only thing you can't do is strip and polish the hull. There are some guys here that can answer all your questions. So you are in the right place. Have fun!!
