many years ago me and friends use to go to auctions to buy cars for teenage fun rallys on old private roads. back in the day we use to try nobbling a car to get it cheap this involved things like swapping plug wires etc so the car ran rough when it was drove in to the sale arena. most of the cars were being sold to the scrap trade so it didnt make much diffrence as most went for 50 pounds ($75) and after we had finnished they still ended up in the scrap merchants

well i have a rv i was selling and a hubby and wife came to look at it before bidding on ******. the wife is chatting away when the hubby asks to look under the hood so i pop the hood and the wife then starts asking all sorts of questions about the inside that she wants ans to right now. i kinda expected something as the wife seemed to be trying to hard to get my attension and im more a motor guy so i would rather speak to the hubby about the 454. hubby comes and asks to hear it run so i start it then he turns on the ac and quickly points out it doesnt work as advertised and i should except alot less....he got upset when i started gigling so i walked around to the front and instantly spotted the ac cable was wrapped around the cam backwards........i said to the guy "oh the cable is caught see if its cold now".......he hummed said yes then said its not what he was looking for and left..... what can i say other than what goes around comes around. the moral is when times are hard dont be to trusting and watch the nobblers when selling and the sob storys when buying (i fell for that one and ended up on iboats tearing out a transom stringers etc...lol)

Nah, ya just did it backwards. You're s'posed to come to iboats first and futz around in the resto forum and then go out and buy the boat, that way you know what to look for... but that's ok, you learned a valuable lesson and served your payback... and the next boat you buy will either be in better shape or you'll pay a lot less for it.

Consider yourself a graduate of the fiberglass boat buying experience.;)

You should have promptly informed him that since the AC now works, you're increasing your asking price $500!
