what did i do wrong

i put a new water pump on my 1995 30 hp rude and now i have water coming out of the shaft right above the lower mtr mount and inside the cowling below the lower cylinder when i hook the muffs on it

I'm guessing you didn't get the water pump discharge tube seated into the upper tube grommet and you're discharging excess water into the exhaust housing cavity.You'll need to revisit the shift linkage demons and drop the lower unit to remedy.

Drake.... Check your workbench. Did you neglect to install the driveshaft extension tube and seals that sits on top of the water pump assy?

is this the small copper tube or the short bigger plastic one with the o rings on it the o rings dont look real good but it doesnt look like the h2o is supposed to go through that tube anyway(the short plastic one)

The short plastic tube that attaches to the waterpump housing with one bolt is the water discharge.You need to insure that the copper tube is lined up with this when reinstalling the lowerunit.Did you install a complete waterpump kit or just the impeller?

ob i just changed the impeller im a little confused i dont remember the bolt you are talking about ill have to take it apart again
