Re: what did you get yourself for x mas?
I didn't know you moved?
I know it blows out on the Plains and I expect that but the night before we were going to go out there I had a hard time sleeping it was blowing so hard! Wind has been very bad this year! I saw that one of CSU's stadium lights blew off the skybox!

I hope that I will be able to check things out at BLGC but I think its almost a fore gone conclusion that I will join or at least get on the waiting list this month. There just isn't anywhere to go shooting long distance on this side of the Rockies anymore that is easily accessible.
Yeah I live up on the north end, the 150 mile round trip commute got old.
I liked BLGC a lot, it's inexpensive, and it's never crowded. Always felt like your own personal ranch, but the facilities are pretty simple no bells and whistles. Took me 45 minutes from town there and was always kind of a nice drive out 86. They have individual pistol berms so you can be independent from the guy next to you and I can only assume they've completed their long range shooting expansion they started on some years ago. Of course with the low dues means little operating money and most things are done on a volunteer basis which means it can take a long time for these upgrades to happen.
there's just nothing on the north side anymore, all the ranges are on a waiting list, some of 10+ years so I joined an indoor for $300 to join and I think about $33 a month, it's expensive but it's handy and I can shoot in the wind and snow. Haven't shot any full auto toys there yet but I'm assured it's no problem... we'll see. I do get tired of waiting for the target runner to run 100 yards but then I think about how long it takes to walk there and back
