16' bowrider, got the floor in & ready to start sealing the edges, seams & screws.
In the pic, the floor (1/2" ply, sprayed both sides with a chopper gun, poly) sits on top of the hull. What do I use to make fillets(?) to transition so I can glass it in correctly?
Or am I even asking the right question...

Mix it up like peanut butter and use the tip of a plastic spoon to push it in and shape the joint. You want a smooth transition.

Mc, Mas epoxies sells an epoxy system that includes fillers for fillets, fairing and laminating thier resins. Its is my understanding that epoxy resins provide a much higher bond strength than polyester resins. West system is also a popular resin. They both provide instructions for thier uses. However there are fillers you can add to poly to get thay "peanut butter" consistancy your looking for.

Here are some short videos about epoxy.

O.K., clearly I need to add something to the resin to add strength & "firm" it up.
Anything wrong with simply cutting some mat into little chunks & stirring it into the resin to add substance? In theory, the material that bonds the mat will disolve in the resin so I think I would end up with lots of tiny and discreet fibers...?

It sort of works OK, but it's not easy to get it smooth, plus it takes a lot of mat to thicken it.
