Hello. Great forum! have been reading a lot of posts. I just bought a starcraft to rebuild. Was wondering what I have! registration says 1975 and lists no model name. hull ID is STR18377M74L. It says length is 16' 4" and width is 77". any help would be appreciated.. thanks

We'll need pictures. I don't think any of us can decode HID numbers. It is most likely a 1974 based on that number.

Sorry, no pictures yet, but it is an outboard, 85 hp merc, open bow and had 2 consoles, walk thru windshield.

It's a SuperSport missing the windshield and passenger console.

Not too sure if that was the best way to attach pictures. I'm about 3/4th through restoration. already done with new foam and floor. making fishing boat out of it. just trying to figure the best way to build support for deck up front. Not going to put other console or windshield back in. Wasn't much left of anything when I got it.

Re: What do I have?

My bow modification uses the existing structure, then I removed the plastic rims off the side storage and riveted L alum to tie in the side pieces on the top. I chose to keep a small entranceway, about 14", then I bridged an additional wall port to star to handle more decking and a seat base. Under that new section the area will house 24v of battery(2) for the trolling motor.

Your picture shows a full bow deck past the console. Wall it up and try to cut your plywood where it remains one-piece to the center bow deck cutout, and the two side pieces can be original.

Your other stick frame method versus a wall is a flooring, or STAGE method. Wall meaning plate and jack. Stage meaning ledger and joist.
