s/n BJ60TLESMB8473531

I'm seriously thinking about buying this motor to replace my mercury-is there anything particular to watch out for on this model engine? Always had Mercs before... Thanks in advance guys!

Other than the talked about VRO issues(Disconnect or keep it debate), they are very reliable motors. I have a 91' 70 HP which is pretty much the same motor and it has been nothing but fantastic. No real issues....

Thanks Rick!
I don't suppose you have any idea what they weigh compared with a 50hp 4cyl blueband or what the compression figures should be do you?

I should learn to use search more often-comp new should be 120psi-is that right? Would still be interested in the weight though.

I can tell you that the Evinrude weighs right at 230#. The 1980 50 HP Merc. weighs 180#. Compression should be at least 100PSI and each cylinder should be within 10% of each other.
