What do parts of model number mean?

Hello, all:<br /><br />I have a 55HP 1978 2-Cyl Johnson.<br /><br />The model number is: 55EL78S<br /><br />I know what the "55" and the "78" mean. <br /><br />Does anyone know what the "EL" and the "S" on the end mean? My clymer manual doesn't list the "S" at all.<br /><br />Eric

Electric start, Long shaft. S is the model run number, which really means nothing to you...
