Ok, here we go...
I have a 20' 1978 Arrow Glass Siesta with a Mercruiser 228 I/O. I bought this boat about 2 months ago and fell in love with it instantly. I was looking for something I could take my wife and kids out on, and also be able to fish with it. This boat was perfect! So heres the story about it...
The posting on it said that the motor needed some work when I bought it. Fair enough. I have friends that could help me out with it. The guy I bought it off of was a straight forward guy and gave me the rundown. Last time it was in the water was this May. He said he unloaded it in the water and went to give it throttle and it just bogged down. Ok. He said he tried a few times and couldnt get it to go. After a few more tries with it stalling he couldnt get it to start.
He had portage lakes marina take a look at it. They rebuilt the carb and put a new starter on it. They fired it up and got it to run, shut it down, and it wouldnt start back up again. The guy said he didnt want to mess with it anymore or sink anymore money in it. So he told them to keep the starter and he would just try to sell it.
So I bought it. Talked to the marina and got the same story he told me. They said they werent sure what it was without having more time with it. Fair enough.
Its been sitting ever since. I have not had ANY time to tear into it. Havent even bought another starter for it. The night I got it, my buddy and I got in it and tested everything out. All electrical works, bilge works, blower works, tilt works. Everything seems good. Nice clean boat. My dad said it sounds like something in the fuel lines. He said they will build up something and just need blown out. Dont know. Hes had a few boats in his time but by no means is a professional boat diagnoser.
The summer is coming to an end and my kids have to stare at that boat sitting in the yard. I really want to get something I can get them out on immediately.
Just fyi... the boat comes with the trailer, fish finder, ship to shore, stereo, anchor, fire extinguisher, sos flag, summer cover AND winter cover, everything you see.
Trailer is in good condition. All lights work, tires are good, tows nice.
Im looking for something that can seat a few people in it, has a motor big enough to pull a tube or ski, spacious enough to fish comfortably, and is ready to hit the water. It doesnt have to be the prettiest thing in the world, but be enough for myself and my family to enjoy. I will sell for 1200 outright also. Or even take a smaller boat + cash. Or trade you mine + cash for yours.
All offers will be considered and replied to immediately. Please dont be afraid to ask.
Email me if you have ANY questions. Email goes through my blackberry so I reply immediately.
Oh, I have the titles on hand. Plus a ton of paperwork that goes with the boat.
And scammers... please dont even try. This is a serious listing for myself and my family. Dont waste either of our time.
