FWIW: This is a 24 foot boat. Not 23 foot as noted in the title.

I'll let you know how it unfolds, but I'm pessimistic about this whole thing. I haven't heard back from the guy and don't really expect to. When I told my wife about the conversation here, she noted that if I **** this guy off - what's to keep him from putting sugar in the gas tank? It's a repo so there's not like I expect any warranty with it.

Not to go off on a tangent but there is another thread around here in the sugar in the gas tank myth, and I believe it was debunked. But, you do not want to **** him off too bad.

well, a few days since my inquiry about talking to the bank and no answer. He's usually very fast in getting back to me. The boat is still listed, twice in fact. Seems like the people who hypothesized that no offers may actually be getting to the bank may be right. Hard to read into what no answer means.

I think you can run a boat fax on the boat if you have the HIN, That may give you some more info. It is like car fax for boats. I do not remember what the exact name is though.

You may also be able to take the trailer license plate # and Boat tag # to the DMV and request information on the numbers. I think that is public record stuff. If you find out who the owner is then just call them up and ask who the bank is.

Get the HIN, Call the manufacturer and get the dealer who took delivery and then ask them what bank financed the deal.
Contact banks repo department and make an offer.
