hello all ive been sitting in the background reading alot..and wow learning alot. ive bought a 1988 bayliner capri 1900 w/ 125 hp force. great shape.(little cosmetic prob on some seats). paid $800.00. runs great after i tightened the hose clamp at the fuel tank. the boat was my sisters and they were desprate to sell for house payment. so i obliged. they said the owner before them had alot of work done to it before they got it . ( the thing under the flywheel, new head gasket, new coil, plugs.) said ran great till one day motor ran good but put in water and bogs down. ive yet to put it in the water but a friend said check fuel line and sure enough it was loose. do you think i got a good deal. lol and do you think the bog down prob or loss of power in water could hace been the loose fuel line?
also wondering how hard it is to change the impeller. and what kind of oil in lower unit to use. thank in advance for any help.

Re: what do you think

Hi Lee;

Congrats on your new boat. Yes you got a good price, trailers alone are rated at 500 bucks. A few pics would be kewl to see. Is it a Capri bowrider or Cuddy Cabin? Change out the fuel and get some fresh stuff in. Check your fuel screen and replace the diaphram and yes replace that impeller. Its not hard just cumbersome. If you look in the Force forum you'll see a bunch of topics related to that and other good stuff. I think your stator got replaced(thing under fly wheel).

Welcome aboard and safe boating!
