I called a guy today who had a motor for sale. Its a 1975 115hp and it runs great. The lower end was rebuilt last year? My question is what do you think it is worth? He gave me a figure but was not sure of it. Before I tell you I wanted to get your input?

Thanks

You did not say what model so Im guessing Mercury? Average retail is 350.00 with tilt and trim. Use this as a guide only! Its an old engine. Sorry way...I think your a little high for my neck of the woods...my thoughts only!

Lyman man

Does it have TNT, and controls with harness and does it have a clear title? Here in Ft Worth that motor depending on the above after checking good on compression goes from $350 to $1000. This all depends on how bad the seller wants to sell. Currently the paper has a 75hp rude for $200.
Hope this helps.

Rick,

It does but does not work, He does not have a title for it. How much trouble is it to replace the TNT. He will give me the controls for it as well.

Thanks

Re: What do you think?

Hi, Lyman Man.

Rick makes an important point. Texas is a title state on outboards.

I brought an untitled outboard in from FL, where they are neither titled nor registered.. It took 3 months and untold paperwork (notarized affidavits back to the original selling dealer) before I got one. I was lucky.

Without a transferrable title I would consider it a parts engine only.

Good luck. :)

Re: What do you think?

JB, when did Texas start titling outboards? Is just new ones? I bought several old I-6's when I lived there and never had to have a title. My father still lives there and I buy outboards down there. Please let me know.
