This is so much fun. I bought a 02 4Runner, 4 wheel Drive with 2 purposes in mind.

One Tow the Boat. Two - let my brother-in-law use it daily to haul the nieces around. replacing the 89 Pathfinder with a lost cylinder that he keeps throwing money at.

He is a missionary, doing good work for local folks, Medical work in Hatie' and donations sending to Cuba.

He is refusing to accept the "Donation" that I bought, gonna have to remind him about that "Pridefull" thing.

So to convience him that it is for the nieces, not him, I have designated the vehicle the "Hello Kitty" wagon. Hello Kitty licence plate and frames.

I don't care if the girl 'ys take spray paint and change it to pink & purple (their favorite colors), as long as it will tow my boat...

he is not happy . . . but i now put my boat in the water with a vehichle with "Hello Kitty" all over it.

I tow my 1986 Cobia 18' with a 2007 4wd Tacoma Double Cab. Most of the time i forget I'm towing it until I have to stop quickly. A bit under-braked if you ask me for something that's supposed to be able to tow 6500 lbs.

96 Ski Centurion with a 99 Sierra with the 5.3L and 3.73 gear. Managed 13mpg through some mountains on the trip back when I bought it. The boat is 3500 lbs and the trailer is 1000 lbs.

We used to tow our 32' Chris Craft with a car about 4 miles to and from the launch sling, but have now have downsized to a "VW" Jetta and only pull the jet ski.

No joke, We towed it for three seasons from our cottage to and from the sling - two trips per year using the Lincoln Towncar. With rear "air suspension" it did not even drag its tail with the 500 lbs tongue weight. The distance was about 4 miles each way and we always used an escort car.

However we now have downsized to a diesel "VW" Jetta and only pull the 13' Yamaha jetski. The marina handles the 32' Chris Craft with a Ford yard tractor for us and stores the boat overwinter behind locked gates.

2001 Chevy 2500 with a 8.1 L gas engine. I know, overkill for towing a tincan. I also tow a 3 horse trailer with living quarters.

Gotta love air suspension. My last three/current two vehicles have had it and it is a great towing enabler. I looked at your pick a few times and couldn't tell if it was photoshopped.

I tow with the honda fit (similar to that jetta, but better ), crazy I know. Here in the states the manual says it may void the warranty but in europe the manual says you can tow 1/2 ton with no trailer brakes or a couple hundred lbs over a ton with trailer brakes. "May void the warranty".... sounds like a gray area to me.

Subaru wrx. Turbocharged running e85 with about 240 hp/305 ft/lb torque at the wheels. Does fairly well pulling a boat, just have to watch out for steep ramps, I don't like replacing clutches more than I need to. I've done 400 mile road trips before and it handles it great, I just limit boost some to preserve the turbo.

(the yellow sugar sand tango is 1455 lbs dry, so i'm probably bumping up against the 2000 pound weight limit. The white sugar sand is roughly 1000 pounds dry.)
