i tow an 18ft runabout with my 1986 trans am. tows pretty well too. a lot of weird looks and comments though. Ive actually had random people at the launch ramp video tape me pulling out the boat. lol

No trouble pulling the boat, but I can't seem to pass a gas station. 8-9 MPG at 65-75 MPH.

Let's see here....7x 12 flatbed, 5x 8 high side utility trailers,20' enclosed,
19'enclosed, 2 horse aluminum, and 4 winns Marquise 180 with either a

2003 Dodge Sprinter TIN Cargo High Top Van 2.7 L 5 Cyl turbo diesel or a 2007 Toyata 4 Runner 6 Cyl.

I like the 4 Runnetr for the boat especially for steep / seldom used launches. But with the Spriner I can haul the boat down the highway and it just sits there hiding behind the draft of the 8'4" tall pull vehicle. Doesn't effect mileage much. (24 hwy)

I pull a 16 foot runabout withy a 03 For Explorer 4x4 6cyl. Does a great job.

I use my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L to tow my 15.5ft procraft bass boat...but I am looking to upgrade

Well, I have a 2001 S10 with a custom shaved back end and I found that a hitch would not fit it because of the back end. So I I found a hitch from some kinda of car and slid the metal brackets into the leaf springs and used a very heavy duty ratchet strap to hold it from moving backwards. As ghetto as it sounds its actually very sturdy.

06 jeep wrangler 4.0 towing a 14 foot four winns-i think i could tow it behind a mini cooper, actually the last time i towed it was the best mileage I've seen in months, its hard to remember its back there, and when using our Florida ramps 4x4 is a nice safety feature, we've launched in some questionable places, side of road, muddy canal banks, basically anywhere that water and land meet.

2005 Toyota Camry SE 4 Cylinder pulling a 16' 1975 Starcraft Supersport 16 with a 70 HP Evinrude (77 model). I too have people watch me pull it out of the water w/o even taxing the car to do so.

Also use a 2008 Toyota Sienna LE. Pack in more people with this one, makes for more fun tossing off the water towable when you have more people to view/laugh.

We tow our 17' Sunbird Neptune with a Chevy Express 3500 conversion van. We also occasionally tow our 30' travel trailer with it.

About 15 yrs ago I had a old 17 ft 1965 model fiberglass boat with a 6cyl merc OB. The thing had to weight as much as my current 19 foot boat. I towed this boat with a old rusty 84 Plymouth Reliant with a 4 cylinder and about 150,000 miles.

The back end would lower about 4 inches and the temp ran higher than normal, but not excessively. Never had any issues pulling it out. Towed it 150 plus miles several times. That was a car that got a lot of looks at the ramps...

If I knew then what I know now though, I wouldn't have done it. Had a very rinky dink hitch on it. Not a lot of hitches built for the Reliant.

I now use a 08 Ford Explorer 4x2 with a v6 and trailor tow pkg for my 19' lund bowrider. Pulls well but it does feel the hills. Get about 12 MPG while towing.
