What do you use to fix a small tear in your vinyl seats?

I need to mend one of my seats. Is there a glue or something that will hold that tear from spreading or is there something better? What is the name of the product your use?

Hit up auto zone or one of those parts stores and get a vinyl repair kit. Won't be perfect but it will be usable and better then duct tape

I have super white vinyl with green trim in my boat.

I use white bathroom silicon to cover up small tears. The great thing about it is I can peel it off and reapply, or attempt a repair, or have a vinyl person look at it in the off season.

So, I don't use silicon to fix, but it definitely gets me through the season.

Call around to your locar car dealers. They (should) have a guy that comes around and fixes the trades. I did this some time back and got the guy that serviced the dealers to come right out to the house and fix two holes. That guy has since retired, so I called around again and got their new guys number...he is coming out next week to do a small hole on my sundeck.

It is not real expensive and the repairs are great. I know it is there and I still have to look to find them, for someone that does not know they are there, they never see it.

Go to a fabric store and buy a small piece of vinyl that matches your seat, use scissors to cut a patch, carefully glue it on with 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive(Autozone), it'll hold up good and look as good as your talents with scissors and glue can provide. Good Luck!

Yeah I have lots of duct tape and gorilla tape around, but I wanted to try and not give away how redneck I am at least for the first year while I'm on the water.:) Thanks for the replies.

Get it done right. Have a local upholstery shop replace that panel with a new piece. It won't take long and it's not expensive.
