What does a 48-78118-17 prop fit?

I bought a prop from a guy who's since went out of business for my Alpha I Gen II Mercruiser that won't fit, hub is too short. I'm not sure what it will fit. Part no. is 48-78118-17. It fits on the spline so I'm pretty sure it's for Merury applications. Also is there a good reference for props that will fit my boat?

Ayuh,... If it's to Short, you probably have the wrong thrust hub,+ mounting kit...
If the barrel of the prop is a smaller diameter, it fits a smaller cased Outboard...

Any prop that fits any of the Alpha series, or Bravo Is, or large gearcase outboards will fit your drive...

That fits a mercruiser #1, probably need a different thrust hub as bond-o said.
