nas9-1100 is the NASA contract name for the Lunar Module that landed on the moon ... I know how to build them, just not how to fly them... Andrew...

mine came from my tour in Iraq with the 1st cavalry. Destroyer was our platoon name, 85 was our 4 man team, and G or Golf in the phoenetic alphabet because i was the machine gunner.

Blood, Sweat and Beers (BSnB) is the name of the boat I'm about finished restoring. (are we ever really finished?) It's been descriptive of what it takes to work on older boats. My "new to me" boat is Fixin' II so I guess I'm "Fixin' II get into more Bull S**t and Beers" with this one.

Re: What does your username stand for?

My three brothers and myself spent a month every year on the replica 18th century tall ship called the Rose. We were part of the volountary crew, the pay was food, board, and getting to spend a month sailing the great lakes. We all tried to reach the captain rank. My oldest brother was just about there when he got really sick one summer and had to be put into a partial coma. When they brought him back to, he was really loopy. He said he dreamed we were all made captains. They made us drink from the mop bucket (everyone on the ship mopped a lot) and gave us names. The names were Captain Potowatamoo (lil brother), Captain Zitscrater (older brother), Captain Panskamper (himself) and Captain Shikaboo (me). He didn't remember telling us the story but the names all stuck. He never made it to captain rank on that ship and eventually he passed away when he was 30. I was able to make it to the captain rank and ran the ship for a week. I was deemed "Captain Shikaboo, a fine shipman."

I just realized I've never posted to this thread! I'm a small town guy, born and raised here. Can't stand 'big city' lifestyles/attitudes. I'm a camper, boater, fisherman, hunter, licensed trapper. I like fixing/repairing/rebuilding stuff, and have done enough duct-tape and bailing wire emergency repairs to make Red Green proud. :D Between all that and living in the pacific North West, viola! NWRedneck!

The first boat my wife and I bought together was an 18ft. Celebrity. Not as big, flashy or well known as a lot of the other Celebrities we've seen.

So I said, let's name the boat Almost Famous. She said, "that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard....."

I like old OMC's from the mid to late '50s. Love their styling, they're easy to work on and they still make great motors.

I tried to get the name Gunslinger but it was already taken. I was born 100 years too late....I was supposed to be a gunslinger in the old west  Since I live in Florida and want to be a Cowboy....

Mystarcraft2.jpgIt must've been karma cause , long story short , i had a 15' dixie stolen from me about 10 years ago , i knew who did it but did'nt have proof . last january word got out that he was going to pick up a freebee but did'nt have a trailer . i jumped on it and had it out of the yard in 3 hours . but i've been on iboats for 2 years now and the 'black' was my g/fs favorite color and 'sting' was just a way to compound the word . check out the striping on the side of my starcraft,.....sooner or later he'll see me on the bay w/ it ,.....

Have watched this thread for a good while and figured what the heck....

I'm an electrician by trade and cadwelding is a term giving to weld copper to copper by heated infusion. Exothermic Welding is the proper term. Cadweld is a trade name from the company that makes the most of the molds and material for it... so now you know..

After having total hip replacement surgery and being a fisherman I named the boat Reel Hip.
