I came home to this at lunch yesterday. Yes, that's my roof. Yes that's my two dogs. I left a 6' step ladder leaned against the carport and I guess they were after a cat or squirrel.

Yes I saw them when I pulled into the driveway and I was dumbfounded. I went in to get the camera and when I came out my neighbor had came over. He said "hey man, did you know your dogs were on your roof?". The neighbor's cat tore off across the yard and Scout (the Weim) jumped off the roof and hit the ground running. The lab was a different story. Two neighbors climbed up there and handed him down to me.

Here's another testament to how well the invisible fence works. Scout wanted that cat bad enough to jump off the roof after him, but he did not cross the line when the car ran out of my yard.

No telling how long those dogs had been up there.

One dog is one thing but two, or more, is a whole different story.

They DO get to together and commit crimes, as a group.

My cat did the same thing a couple of months ago but she's a sailor at heart. My neighbor has a 40' sailboat in the yard on a large wood block and boat stands. He left an extension ladder with the flattened rungs up against it and she climbed up it to explore the boat. Just like your dogs, she couldn't figure out how to get back down.

My last dog, named Star ,would fallow me anywhere including up the ladder unto the roof when we were shingling. He could never figure out to back down the ladder though. He would always run down forward.

Wow. There's a dog up the street who has jumped out of a second story window twice . . . broke his leg the first time. But that's 'cause he's stupid . . . your dogs did it the right way, great!!

It really would of surprised you if one of the dogs happen to say "hay man you have a hole in the roof" . I would of pulled up and scratched my head for a few minutes wondering how in the heck.....

Yeap... those invinsible fence sure does it works. I had a wireless one and sure enough the dog learn real quick how far he can go before being zap. Bet you they will do it again (climb the roof) if you leave the ladder where it is.

Had a Golden Retriever who used to go nuts over the wind blowin' my kids blow-up pool toys around. Chase them around the aboveground 54" high pool with a ladder at one end. One afternoon heard him barking for a while and took a peek outside. He musta climbed the ladder and jumped in. 4 toys and a lounge chair torn to shreds and one wet,exhausted,heavy!,dog clinging to the side of the pool looking for a little help.........

Mine's nuts; I raised German shorthairs before; I saw the most beautiful dog one day and had to buy it.

I'm the proud owner of a Blue.

My wife named her molly and we will be breeding them soon. Let me figure how to post pics and I'll show you.

Mine are not that smart. They just stay out in the rain even though they have a nice $200 doghouse I bought for them.
