Alpha One, Gen One Mercruiser Stern Drive. 1:81 ratio would this be good for a V8 on the Great Lakes?

No, they don't make a prop big enough. V8 is 1.50 , drive should go to the 3.7 L aka 470,488 160-175 hp

Ayuh,... That ratio was paired with the 470, I4, 'n with some 4.3ls, in rather large hulls,...

Not a good choice for any V8s,...

How big is the boat you were planning on putting it on? A large heavy boat with a 305 would work really well with a 1.81:! drive..
