What fluid is in trim pump? Looks like oil.

This may be a dumb question. The Merc manual just sez "Power Trim and Steering Fluid", but to me it looks like amber motor oil. So before I go putting the wrong stuff in there (cuz it's a bit low), someone plz drop me a hint? I had the motor and resevior replaced about 2 years ago and haven't had to ad any to it yet, but I do now!:eek:

It is actually ATF, but it's used as power steering fluid, not oil.

According to every owners manual and service manual Mercruise has ever put out on Alpha trim pumps, it should have 10W30 or 10W40 motor oil.

Thanks guys! I just looked a little harder in my manual and found it, 10-30 or 10-40w.:redface: Might be time for new eyeglasses! Actually, I just wanted to see if anyone is still awake back east! They are.
