I don't know bob, I think SOME might be this way. My mechanic, who seems to be an absolute OMC guru, told me he could make my 90 V4 and honest 115 with a carb swap. He said the 140 V4, however, had more substantial changes.
(unfortunately the reason we were having this conversation was due to the fact that he discovered, in the course of troubleshooting some running isses for me, that some previous owner moron had put 140 carbs on it.)

some dealers can tell you the model number if they know the serial number...
some dont want to botgher though

the bores on the carb opening are bigger on the 175...so if you can find any 150 or 175 and get to measure the carb openings...you can compare that ID to what you have on yours.
