What have I got?

I bought this boat LINK last weekend and am having trouble finding anything about it online. All I know about it aside from what the ad shows is that it is a 1963 Starcraft with an Evinrude Starflite IV motor that I was told is a 75HP. I would at least like to know what the model name is. ANYTHING else would be appreciated too. The boat needs a little TLC as far as a few screws, some paint, cushion recovering etc.. goes but otherwise seems very sound and water worthy. I was shocked at how clean the engine is and how well it runs once I actually got it on the water and opened it up a bit. Moves good. I love this boat already and still can't believe I got it for $1000.00 even. I would love to know much more about exactly what it is I have though. Looks like my little boys will have a fun summer regardless but the more I know the happier I am.

Thanks,

Allen

Re: What have I got?

For the sake of the archives it is a 1963 Starcraft Fiesta. http://www.fiberglassics.com/starcraft/brochure.asp

That is all I wanted to know about the hull. Everything else I can fabricate or repair as needed in my shop. As for the engine it is well documented and I even have the original manual so it looks as if I'm good to go.

Cool boat. Closed bow and cabin up front. But long low gunwales mid to aft. Looks very fishable.

Have fun.

StarCruiser:

Allen: agree that your nice boat is a Fiesta, one of Starcraft's 3 cabin cruisers that year (Chieftain at 21'7", Starchief at 18'4", and the Fiesta at 17'). The other two were aluminum lapstrake hulls and yours was the only fiberglass cruiser that year. You are missing the 20" high wrap-around windshield. She is rated for a 25-90 hp motor and weighs in empty at 1038 pounds (without engine). She is suppose to have 3 8ftx22in bunks in the cabin, which you might very well have. Her cabin door is a nice veneered mahogany. Her original colors were tan above the rubrail, and white below. Great boat! Enjoy your Starcraft.

Re: What have I got?

Any opinions on a 87 starcraft 19 ft medalist? This started out as a cheap project boat..
Turned out great...
