What high tech items are do we really need in our boats?

My restoration is 95% finished so now I was wondering what other items do I or should I really add to my boat.
My boat I restored is a 79 chaparell with a 470 Merc. I have a vhf radio to add a gps.
So what else do I need to add?

where are you going to be boating,. lake, river, ocean.

and how are you going to be using the boat, fishing? or a weekend getaway?

I would definitely go with a quality depth sounder. They are especially valuable in rivers. Our river levels change allot throughout the year. If you are not careful the lake bottom can come right up at you!
We also do some boating off the keys once or twice a year. The waters in that area are quite shallow. Without a good depth finder, or a good knowledge of the area, running aground is a real danger.
