WHAT HP IS MY MERCURY 6616898 1986

HELLO, I just got a mercury outboard motor this week, I no its a 1986 model and the serial is 6616895, its a black max but I cant find out what HP it is so if anyone can help me I would love to find out what the hp is thanks my email is fastshipper4u@Yahoo.com

All 86 mercurys serial numbers start with an A so it can't be an 86 85 150s start at 6616991<br />84 all V/6s start in 643---- up need more facts

I doubled checked and the tag on the neck reads 6616895, the starter and acouple of more parts read they where made in 1984, so im so losted, thanks

Whoops, click on Modellguide, then Mercury, and then 120-300HK.

I have a 150 merc s/n 6409624 and Ive been told mine is an 84 or 85 model.

Year is irrelevant with Mercs. Serial number is what parts are looked up upon.<br /><br />-W

Hey Fastshipper,<br /> I typed in your serial# at mercurypartsexpress.com and it lists it as a 2.4 liter. Mine I know is a 150Hp and it is a 2.0L, so from that I would say you have a 175Hp. as Clams said though...all you need to order parts is the s/n year is irrelevent.<br />Hope this helps.
