I cut the deck out of my Bayliner the other day. I had a small soft spot between the driver & passenger seats, last year I did a quick ply cover over just to get the summer out of it. Had no issues & the wife wanted me to leave it go another year, but No Way. Anyway, got the deck out & their was no foam in the driver seat box. There was a ton of it (slightly damp) under deck on that entire side. When I cut the seat box on the pass. side, it was filled to capacity with foam & nothing under the deck on that side. Talk about conformity & quality control. Just wondering if this was normal. I'll be replacing the foam under deck on both sides because I'm doing bucket seats in those spots.

Quality control just can't check them all....I've seen things like this many times on restores, could be somone has been in there before or the factory just skimped on that one, who knows. But in answer to your question, no it's not normal, but its not unheard of.

Go Bayliner.

You mean go Brunswick. I doubt that problems with the workmanship of the build have anything to do with the Bayliner brand specifically.

Did you get a peek at your stringers in the area? I would do some test holes to make sure water hasn't gotten to them.....keep us posted Maxxie and some pics too....Ya know how we love pictures :D

Ya, picture's, that's funny rick. After i asked for ton's of picture's of your project:D. I've got a 3 year old daughter running around & can't get the camera off the wife & when I do it's SD card is full (she doesn't like to upload, ever...Or put gas in her own car:D:facepalm:). I'll drill a few holes as soon as it warms up again, got blasted with another 6" of snow & as soon as it melts I'll be out there. I too am working outside only I don't have a cool tent to work in like rick's. Wish I had thought of something like that, I'd be a lot further on this.
