I have been looking around for a trailer for my Kawasaki standup. I have mostly seen single jetski trailers going for $300. Is this a good price??

A brand new (basic) PWC trailer can be had for about $550 or $600, so 300 bucks seems about right- if it's in decent shape and has a good title.
Of course, there are better buys if you're patient and know where to look. I recently got a 1999 Continential PWC trailer for $150. Found it on Craigslist for $200 and talked him down a bit..:D

Around here , I have accually seen a few people using those small Northern Tool trailer kits which run about 180 bucks. All they did was add some boards to center it and added a small winch in front.

Thanks for the quick replies!! I guess $300 doesn't sound like to much for a trailer. A friend of mine offered me a 1997 Tigershark jetski with a double trailer for $500. The trailer needs nothing, but the ski needs a new engine. Should I go with just a single trailer, or should I go for the double??

if you have 2 PWC's double trailer, or plan on having 2. $500 for a double trailer is a great price. i have 3 pwc's 1 on a single trailer, and 2 newer ones on a double trailer.

Well do you plan on getting another ski or are you fine with just one? I guess if he is offering you the ski and trailer as a package and thats what you're looking for then thats what I would go for. Otherwise you could always sell the double and pickup a single, maybe even make a little money you could put towards the new engine.

It might be good to take your friend up on his offer. That way if you ever do get a second jetski you'll already be setup to trailer it.

Re: What is a Good Price on a Jetski Trailer

I do have a Kawasaki JS 550 Standup without a trailer. That is why I need a trailer in the first place. If I get the double, then I would have a Tigershark to go along with it. At the very least, I was planning on buying another 550 to go with mine, so I will have a pair of them (These 550s are great starter skis by the way). I guess if I plan on fixing the tigershark, I could just buy another trailer for it. I have seen a lot of people modify old jon boat trailers into very efficient jetski trailers. I have seen a few that just have two 16 or 17' boards side by side from each other. These people will usually carry up to 4 skis on a single boat trailer:eek: It would be very efficient for me if I can find one of those (if I decide to buy another 550 and to keep the Tigershark, I can have all of the skis on one trailer). Should I just buy a small boat trailer and modify it into a nice ski trailer, or should I just stay with the doubles??

when you get to triples you get into lauching problems. weight balance problems on the trailer, because you can get 3 side by side.

I've seen these go on sale at the local HF store, but they have tiny 8" wheels and aren't galvanized. They're fine for non saltwater areas where you don't have to do any freeway towing to get to the water. They seem to go on sale every few weeks for about $250.

Re: What is a Good Price on a Jetski Trailer

I have continued to find $300 trailers, but I have stumbled on a few that are almost steals!! One guy out of Waco decided to sell me his galvinized single for $100:eek: (all it needed was new light bulbs). Also, the same friend with the Tigershark PWC offered to sell the double trailer alone for only $150 (all it needed was new tags)!! They are both great deals, but I am not sure which one to go with. The trailer out of Waco is in outstanding condition (decals are all there, and there are no faded spots on it). The double trailer is covered in rust and dents. It is definately a head turner (in a negative way!!). By the look of the double, I am shocked that it is road worthy!!
