Yep, Those mushy, used to be wood, 2x4 lookin things, that are semi fiberglass encapsulated, that to replace, require cutting the boat all apart with a saw, to get at.
O boy am i glad that they are intact
in perfect shape. while the wood is falling off the top(the deck) the underside looks new.
i guess bayliner didnt want to spend the money for marine grade plywood for the deck.

i will!
I get a prize.. I knew that was a Bliner from the photo

Stringers are the struts that run lengthwise, bow-to-stern . Bulkheads are the struts that run port-to-starboard. They just call them that, because on a large ship, that's what internal wall structures are called.
Bayliner missed the boat by skimping on glass. They only glass-up half the way up on the bulkheads, and dont bother to even coat the underside of the decking. They sit in the sun and water in the bilge (even a small amount),turns into a cloud of moisture, and the deck rots form the under side up.
It's what seperates Bayliner from so-called "better" boats...All over 15 buks worth of fiberglass.
I thought it was an OLD Chrysler engine. Wait
did Chrysler turn into Force. The mind is a terrible thing to waste. If I could only remember 1/2 the things I've forgot.
