What's considered "normal" for water pressure? Engine is a 98 Mariner 225 EFI.
I just bought this boat recently and am going to install a gauge this weekend. The P/O said water pump was last changed spring of 2006, but the boat has only had approx 25 hours since. I am planning on replacing it at the end of this season but if pressure is still good, should I, or wait one more season?
BTW...the tell-tale puts out a good solid stream at idle and sprays great while cruising.

Thanks.
I'll be installing gauge tonight or tomorrow in the console and see what I've got.

If pressure is lower, time to replace pump...
what if pressure is higher?

To high of pressure means the popit valve is not releasing as long as the engine does not overheat at WOT don't worry about it
