What is Ficht ?

Silly Question? What does Ficht stand for? I've heard a lot of good things about Direct Injection. Is this the Same as Ficht? What are the differences? Thanks

Hi, Jango.<br /><br />The FICHT system is the Direct Fuel Injection system adopted by OMC in the 90's and still in use by Bombardier, though "the Bomb" has dropped the Ficht name.<br /><br />I think it was named after the guy who invented/developed it, but it may be an acronym for some obscure phrase used to describe it.<br /><br />To a lot of owners of the early FICHT equipped V6 engines it is a swear word.<br /><br />Cheers
