Yesterday, I woke up knowing I would have to battle the Streets of San Francisco. I had a job to do there and even though it pays extemely well, I hate going to San Francisco for anything. When I got home I was beat and felt like I never wanted to do that again.

This morning I woke up at 4:00am, drank 3 cups of coffee jumped in my SUV and headed onto a 300 mile round trip journey. Along the way I encountered rain, sleet, hail, snow, lousy drivers and heavy traffic. When I got to my destination I gave a guy $550.00 and in return, he gave me back my boat with the hull gash completely and perfectly repaired. I hooked the boat up and hauled it back home through more rain, sleet, hail and snow. It cost me money and I didn't get paid but in my opinion, it was a wonderful day.

What the heck is wrong with us boat owners... LOL.. Not a darn thing in my book.

LOL,

If the boat is with you.....what could be against you?
Some people would walk a mile for a camel, I'd travel hundreds for my boat, and have!
Camels make you sea sick anyhow! Something about their inability to learn to walk like a horse.

May the boat be with you....always.

PH. :D

I like being a boater. It is one of the few things that one can do to get away from land lovers.

What is it about being a boat owner? I think it's the common addiction we have to the motion of the boat in the water (cruise ships would be a lot more fun if they didn't have stabilizers!). And the endless amount of new experiences than come with the sport. And the camaraderie of other boaters. And... much more.:)

My wife says she loves the motion of the ocean. :D Seriously though it is just the love of the water and the freedom that open water gives us. No roads, no government intrusion for the most part when you are out on a lake or ocean. The wind in your hair (if you still have some left), the exploration of new to you territories. There is just so much to love about boating.

Get a few miles offshore, and all the worries of life just seem to melt away.

Yep, leave everything at the shore. No matter how bad of a day I can have with the boat wether it be the motor dying, DNA giving me crap for swimming in a non-designated area, or running out of drinks, I will still go back and do it again.

I'll tell you what it is about boat owners... they are all NUTS! Yep, crazy as a loon! Why else would you spend as much money as you do to go out on the water where any thing can happen (including forgetting to put in the plug) and you could sink to the bottom just like that? Yep, they are all NUTS!

Oh, wait, I am one of them ... um, never mind.

Re: What is it about being a boat(s) owner.

my happy place is in my boat, anywhere on any lake on a warm sunny day, a couple of cold ones in the cooler and a fishing pole in my hand.

a new impeller, coils and transom replacement are planned soon and Im not one bit angry at the time or money I have to spend on my boat.
